Over recent years all schools are reporting an increase in absenteeism due to families taking holidays during term time. Parents often email me to “seek permission” for such holidays. As Principal I cannot give or deny permission for such activities. The final decision is always with the family.

From Boarding

Andrew Fuller Workshop

Last week over 300 students attended an Andrew Fuller workshop sponsored by the Australian Boarding Schools Association. Several of our Year 10 students took the opportunity to be a part of this gathering and were given lots of study tips and ideas on positive self-management and resilience. Andrew also touched on the detractors to good health and wellbeing which can sabotage anyone. One of these was the importance of enough sleep – which perhaps we do not take seriously enough.

2015 Secondary Assistance Scheme

Parents/guardians with eligible concession cards with students enrolled in Years 7 - 12, studying a full time secondary course at a Western Australian private school, will be able to apply for the Secondary Assistance Scheme in 2015.

Mozzie End of Year Meeting & Wind Up

All dads are invited to the Mozzie end of year meeting and wind up. 

Wednesday 26 November in the Community Room at the College.
Starting at 6.00 pm until 7.30.
Dad’s from ALL year groups are welcome.  

Drinks and nibbles supplied. This is an opportunity to plan and share ideas for next year, also a great chance to meet and network with other dads of the school.

Santa Maria College Awards Evenings

This year the College will host three Awards Evenings, which will recognise the achievements of our students throughout the 2014 Academic year.

Junior School Awards Evening (Years 5 & 6)  Sunday 30 November 2014
Middle School Awards Evening (Years 7 - 9)  Monday 1 December 2014
Senior School Awards Evening (Years 10 & 11)  Thursday 4 December 2014

Each Awards Evening will be held in the McDonald Building and will run from 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm.

The relevant Awards Evenings are compulsory for students. Extended family are invited and encouraged to attend. Bookings are essential for seating.  To book click here.
