Mission

I had the good fortune to celebrate the Easter season in Ireland on the inaugural College Music Tour. The tour of thirty six students and three staff, departed from Perth on Monday 30 March, arriving in Dublin in time to spend a few days involved in reflection at the Mercy International Centre, currently the headquarters and heritage centre of the Sisters of Mercy, worldwide prior to participating in Easter Liturgical services.

Curriculum 

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment that students in Years 5, 7 and 9 will participate in on Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 May during Periods 1 and 2. NAPLAN is made up of tests in the four domains of Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy. NAPLAN shows how individual students are progressing in numeracy and literacy skills against national standards for all Australia children.

Boarding

Welcome to Term 2. It is lovely to have your daughters back with us. At the end of last term Mrs Sue Towes accepted a classroom position at another school and Mrs Jackie Strange has come back to Boarding to take her place. Jackie is well known to the girls and a very welcome addition to our staff.

Senior School

The Year 10 Parent Daughter Pasta Evening on 20 April was a great night of community building and fostering of relationships, giving parents the opportunity to get to know one another better, as well as spending some quality time with their daughters and their friends.

Middle School

Following on from Year 8, the Year 9 students have begun their Enriched Learning Task Strive9.  They have been working together as a Homeroom to combine their values with the needs of their community to come up with a topic they feel is important enough to offer help with.

Junior School

Some ways of learning are more fun than others, and we had lots of fun at the Scavenger Hunt, thanks to Mr Morris’s Year 10 HASS class. We started off by getting into groups of three or four. Each group was given a sheet with 8 clues to station venues.
